TTO – On the morning of July 20, the Vietnam Railways Corporation organized a train to transport containers directly from Hanoi to Belgium, marking the opening of more transport routes into the interior of Europe.
The first container train from Yen Vien station (Hanoi) to Liege city (Belgium) was operated by Ratraco Railway Trading and Transport Joint Stock Company – a member unit of Vietnam Railways Corporation. – and Maersk Group – Denmark – jointly organized.
The train consists of container wagons running on a railway of 1,435m with 23 40-foot containers containing textiles, footwear and electronics. The train departs at Yen Vien station – Hanoi, when it arrives at Trinh Chau – Trung China – will be connected to the Asia-Europe train to Liege (Belgium). Here, the overland transit container goes to the destination city of Rotterdam – the Netherlands. Total estimated transit time for the entire journey is 25-27 days.
