6 traffic projects connecting the Cai Mep – Thi Vai port cluster.

Five roads and one bridge has been implemented, will promote the connection and transportation of import and export goods through the Cai Mep – Thi Vai port cluster.

More than 20 km long, accounting for more than 30% of the country’s container export volume, the Cai Mep – Thi Vai port cluster (Phu My town) is considered to have the highest cargo growth rate in the world. However, the process of transporting import and export goods is facing many obstacles because traffic is often congested.
The transport project management board of Cai Mep – Thi Vai port area said that there are four key transport projects with an investment of more than 14,200 billion VND that have been implemented to turn the port cluster’s expectation into a “gateway. southern”.
1. The Cai Mep – Thi Vai inter-port road: is more than 18 km long, six lanes, is a route to exploit the system of seaports and industrial zones along the Cai Mep – Thi Vai river. Started in 2009 with a total investment of 2,838 billion VND by government bonds. Up to now, the road is smooth from the beginning point at Cai Mep Lower port (Phu My town) to the end point of Nhon Trach district, Dong Nai.
2. The project of Phuoc An bridge spanning Thi Vai river was approved by the People’s Council of Ba Ria – Vung Tau to construction investment policy in August 2020. The bridge end point connects Cai Mep – Thi Vai inter-port road to the road to Phuoc An port (Nhon Trach district, Dong Nai province).
3. Road 991B was started in May 2018, nearly 10 km long, the first point intersects Hoi Bai – Toc Tien road to downstream Cai Mep port.
4. Long Son – Cai Mep road project is more than 3.7 km long leading to Long Son Oil and Gas Industrial Park with an investment of 1,189 billion VND, equal to the provincial budget. The 6-lane design road and bridge spanning Rang River is nearly 400m long.
5. In addition to the above key projects, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province is implementing the construction of the road behind My Xuan – Thi Vai port, phase one to connect the port system with the industrial park to Highway 51. Long road 2 , 6 km, the investment capital of 407 billion VND is expected to be completed by mid-2023.
6. Phuoc Hoa – Cai Mep road, starting at the intersection of Highway 51 connecting to Cai Mep – Thi Vai inter-port road, is more than 4.4 km long. The project with a total investment of 954 billion VND with the provincial budget, is expected to be completed this year, making goods from the shipping ports up – down the highway more convenient
